I am writing this while away for a new year get away in Marrakech. If you haven’t had the experience of a visit to this wonderful place then I highly recommend it!
As a artist it is a truly inspiring place to be full of visual splendour as well as a full on attack on the senses! Whether it be the call to prayer from the beautiful Koutoubia Mosque at 5.30am or the smells of fresh herbs and spices in the square it is a true experience. The view of the snow capped Atlas Mountains are a beautiful backdrop to the city and there is nothing better than to escape the hectic shopping in the souks with a fresh avocado juice on one of the many roof top cafes with the sun on your face and a amazing view over the city.
The Soukes
Marrakesh is full of highly skilled artisan's creating and making a huge range of amazing items from leather goods to amazing lighting, the Medina is full of busy artisan's working away at there craft.
Every turn you see something different!
Colour, Style and Marrakesh If there is one thing the people of Marrakech know how to use it is colour! Everywhere you look you see classic colour combinations working there magic. There are some truley stunning Riads in Marrakesh with interior's that blow your mind. It's a beautiful place to go to be inspired by the colours and beautiful interiors and I am itching to get painting!
I have been busy planning my year ahead and I am happy to tell you about a Solo Exhibition I have in April at Sock Gallery in Loughborough.
